I started my long journey as a healer many years back when I was attending the University of Michigan as an undergrad. Through a series of fortuitous circumstances, I stumbled upon Polarity Therapy, a form of energetic healing involving the laying on of hands and gentle manipulation of muscles and limbs while channeling life force. Throughout my twenties, I furthered my skills as an Energy Healer under the tutelage of master teacher Linda Goodhands and Professor Max Heirich, who taught classes on Western/Non-Western Medicine.
In my thirties, when I moved to California (which took the form of a long coast-to-coast pilgrimage undertaken on foot) I studied Shiatsu and Swedish massage at the National Holistic Institute in Emeryville, CA. In 1998, I had a wonderful nocturnal dream to head to Thailand and make a film about elephants. There I discovered the extraordinary benefits of Thai Yoga Bodywork, an ancient form of healing blending Indian Ayurveda, yoga and Traditional Chinese Medicine with a unique Thai twist. I initially took classes with the Sunshine Network based in Chiang Mai, Thailand and eventually studied under the tutelage of Pischet Boonthume, one of Thailand’s master teachers. In 2007, I completed my Masters in Holistic Health Education from JFK University with an emphasis on Dream Studies and in 2015, I received my PhD in Mind Body Medicine at Saybrook University exploring the connection between dreams and health. My goal during sessions is to integrate mind, body and spirit. I take you on an internal journey. I like to think of myself as more of a guide than therapist. What’s provided is not just a physical experience but an energetic one. One that hopefully leaves you feeling more whole, more centered, more integrated than before. Through assisted yoga like stretches, rocking, compressions, the pressing of acupoints and energetic chakra holds, both you and I enter into a trance state, each on our own journey. The experience varies with the individual. Some experience deep relaxation. Others feel like they went on a long dream journey through the many dimensions of the Inner Self. Some experience profound bliss states. Others experience considerable pain relief. Some feel lighter mentally and physically. For others the journey can be psychedelic or visionary. For some the journey is sensual, for others not at all. The experience can vary from session to session, even for the same individual. The nature of the journey is dictated by the needs and callings of your body, your soul and your psyche. My role is primarily to listen and respond. Your own Greater Self, does the rest.
